LESSONS FOR EVERYONE
-
Don’t call more than twice in a row. If someone doesn’t answer, it means they can’t or don’t want to. Respect that.
-
If someone doesn’t want to hang out with you, respect that… never run after anyone.
-
Return borrowed money before someone reminds you. The same goes for umbrellas, pens, or food containers. It’s a matter of honesty.
-
When someone invites you to lunch, don’t order the most expensive dish. Gratitude is worth more than luxury.
-
Stop asking uncomfortable questions like: “So, a boyfriend, girlfriend?”, “Children?”, “Marriage, house?”. That’s not your life, so it’s not your problem.
-
Always hold the door open for the person behind you. That’s basic courtesy.
-
If your friend pays for a taxi, coffee, or lunch today, you pay next time. Relationships are about balance, not exploitation.
-
Respect other people’s opinions. What looks like a “6” to you might be a “9” to someone else.
-
Don’t interrupt. Listen. Silence teaches more than talking.
-
If you tell a joke and nobody laughs – stop. Awkward silence is also an answer.
-
“Thank you” is never too much. Use it often.
-
Praise in public, correct in private when face to face.
-
Don’t comment on someone’s weight or looks. Just say: “You look wonderful!”. That’s enough.
-
When someone shows you a photo on their phone, don’t swipe further. You never know what’s hidden there. Those are private photos, aren’t they?
-
When someone goes to the doctor, don’t ask: “What’s wrong with you?”. Instead, say: “I hope everything is okay.” Respect privacy.
-
Treat the janitor the same as the director or principal. The greatness of a person is measured by how they treat those to whom they owe nothing.
-
If someone is talking to you, put your phone down. Staring at the screen is a sign of disrespect.
-
Don’t give advice if no one asked for it. Nobody listens to unwanted preaching.
-
When you meet someone after a long time, don’t ask about their age or salary. Ask how they are feeling, if they are happy. That’s what matters most.
-
Mind your own life. Other people’s problems don’t always need your interference.
-
Take off your sunglasses when talking to someone on the street. Respect is seen in the eyes. In winter, take off your gloves when shaking hands, especially for men.
-
Don’t flaunt wealth in front of the poor, nor children in front of those who don’t have them or can’t have them.
